School Camp to Bannockburn Nov 2014 - 4th Dec 2014

We have just returned from a wonderful week long camp in Bannockburn where we enjoyed lovely weather and an amazing array of activities, from confidence course activities to hiking, biking and swimming. The children had a marvellous time and it was so nice to have so many parents join us on camp. It really makes our camps rather unique. It is great for the children to spend time with their parents and the extended school whanau in such a nice environment outside of the school. We also learnt plenty about gold and the effects the gold rush had on Central Otago. The evidence was stark in the Bannockburn sluicings, an extraordinary place. We also went to Arrowtown and tried our luck with gold panning, and we were introduced to a metal detector as well, but alas, even that clever device couldn’t find a gold deposit for us! Thanks very much to Bendigo Valley Charitable Trust for their kind grant to assist with camp costs.

School camp to MT COOk - nov 2013 - 1st Jan 2014

Our School Camp to MT COOK 2013 was very successful.

The whole school partcipates in the school camp and this year loads of parents joined in the fun.

Everyone loved being in the alpine environment and took advantage of the beautiful surrondings with several walks in the area including
A guided walk with Ray Bellringer thru Governers Bush nature walk, and a long walk to the Hooker terminal lake which was stunning all kids made it on this quite lengthy walk which was just fantastic to see.

The school also visted the Sir Edmund Hillary centre and DOC headquarters which were a wealth of infomation.

We went for a visit to the Mt Cook school and also had a
Search and Rescue exercise with Ray Bellringer.

We camped at Unwin Hut for three nights and everyone throughly enjoyed themselves
